How to write an oilfield resume
- Put your tickets near the top. Many Basin jobs won't call back without current H2S and SafeLand (or PEC). Add the TWIC card if you have one.
- Spell out your CDL. Write the class and every endorsement (Hazmat, Tanker, X). Say whether your medical card is current.
- Name the equipment. "Ran a vacuum truck and winch truck" tells a hiring manager more than "operated equipment".
- Use numbers you can stand behind. Miles driven without an accident, wells you tended, days without a recordable, crew size you led.
- Say what hitch you'll work. 14/7, 21/7, nights, travel. It's one of the first things recruiters ask.
- Keep it simple for ATS. One column, standard headings, no photos or skill bars. Every template here follows those rules. No tool can guarantee an ATS result, but clean formatting removes the common problems.
Once it's ready, browse open jobs, entry-level jobs or CDL jobs, and apply on the employer's own site. New to the oilfield? Read how to get an oilfield job with no experience and which certifications to get.
